Seattle 2012 Iphone

Seattle was a city I have always wanted to visit. How can you NOT fall in love with the city after watching ‘Sleepless in Seattle’? ;) Our trip pretty much consisted of food, food and more food. Thankfully we walked around the whole time we were in Seattle so that helped burn 259 of the 57980465 calories I consumed. lol! And the weather! It was perfect! It got a little warm (mid 80′s) but I can’t complain. While we were there, we decided to hit up a Mariner’s game and went the day AFTER Felix Hernandez pitched a perfect game!! We didn’t even know about the perfect game either! lol. But we got to see him come out and receive an award. ;) I also have a bit of the touristy bug in me so I HAD to see the view from the Space Needle. All in all it was a fantastic trip and am thrilled I get to cross Seattle off my list. :)

Shrimp cocktail is one of my FAVORITE things to eat. The pic below is a crab cocktail and just as good. Mmmmm. I love shrimp anything.

These lobster tails were ginormous!!

The wall of gum! It was truly disgusting and amazing at the same time.

‘the zach’ from serious biscuit.

I love that you can see the kitchen at every Tom Douglas’ restaurant. Or atleast all the ones we went to had an open kitchen. The shot below is actually of their bread and pastry production area. That was our view while munching on ‘the zach’ and one of their yummy pizzas.

Ok. This place is pretty bomb. My sweet sweet bride mentioned Paseo and their delicious sandwiches in one our emails so we had to check it out. Oh my goodnessssss. The sandwiches were really good. The place was tiny, hot and had a long line but it was so worth it. And right when we ordered and somehow managed to sit down at a table, they posted a sign they had run out of sandwiches! And it was nowhere near closing time.

Coconut cream pie at Palace Kitchen. I’m not a fan of coconut but this pie was pretty good. Minus the coconut shavings.

Gorgeous view of Seattle’s skyline.

Thank you for showing us a good time Seattle! We love you!

Pasadena Engagement Photography

Is it weird I want to print this and hang it on my wall? Every time I look at it, I can’t help but smile inside and out. Laughing is the best.

I will always remember my initial consultation with Keri + Chuyen (pronounced Twin). We instantly hit it off and had so much fun laughing and talking. As I was walking to my car, I thought I really hope they book me. Later that night, I received a text from Keri saying that while they were walking to their car, they both looked at each other and said, ‘let’s book her!’. That was the best feeling ever. Keri + Chuyen got married in Seattle last month and I couldn’t have been happier to have crossed paths with these 2 amazing souls. I’ll be sure to share their Seattle wedding with you, but in the mean time, I hope you enjoy their adorable engagement session. Keri wanted to incorporate their laptops since they had met through Eharmony and what better place to start the session than at Intelligentsia in Pasadena. I don’t know why but this engagement session is one of my favorites to date. So much genuine laughter, love and respect for one another. And don’t get me started on Chuyen. This guy is straight funny. Super quiet at our meeting but full of witty jokes and pokes.

P.S. The last shot is of Chuyen ‘dipping’ Keri. And I say ‘dipping’ cuz I thought her back was gonna break! LOLOL! Chuyen’s words: ‘That’s how they do it on Dancing with the Stars’.

Love you two to pieces.

Meg - Your pictures are the best.

Europe 2012. Film.

Hello everyone!

I just wanted to share with you the film I got back from Pro Photo Connection. I went to Europe at the beginning of this year and dropped my film off a month or 2 ago! But you know… better late than never.

There are so many images I wanted to blog, but I narrowed it down to the images below. I still can’t believe I have been fortunate enough to have walked the streets of Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. And I am so happy to have these images to remind me of my adventures in Europe. As you all know, I’m a digital photographer and like to shoot film for personal work. I took my Canon 5D mk i and a couple of lenses, but I got tired of shooting 38709790 images per second. When you’re shooting that much, you tend to miss the whole experience. Plus, my battery (and back up batteries) all died for some reason and wouldn’t charge. Initially, I was a little worried because I thought I would have to leave Europe with just the photos on my iPhone. I was super scared my exposures would be all messed up… getting back complete black or white images. But that’s the beauty of film. It’s so forgiving. I shot with my Canon A-1, popped some fuji 400h in there and kinda listened to my meter. I definitely over exposed like crazy. If my meter said 5.6 @ 1/1000, I probably shot at 2.0 @ 1/500 or something. I just crossed my fingers and said a little prayer. And ofcourse, the guys at Pro Photo did a great job developing my film. Looking back, I’m so glad I didn’t use my slr to shoot. I got to really soak in everything through my eyes and not behind my viewfinder. Felt so liberating. ;)

Some of the exposures might be a little off, but I love each and every image and am so excited to get these printed and display them in my home.

I love you Europe. Can’t wait to see you again. xo.

First up. Pairs, France.

Venice, Italy. Just incredible. I felt like a 5 year old watching a magic show for the first time. All smiles and in complete awe. It was pure heart magic.

We had to catch a super early AM train from Venice to Florence and got to the train station 2 hours before the station opened. It was FREEZING outside so we planted ourselves next to the homeless men in the waiting room. It was a very memorable experience to say the least.

Florence & Rome, Italy.

First time in Rome and I had the honor of attending mass with the Pope. That was pretty rad.

The sweetest British guy offered to take a picture of me with my camera. I was like OK! Thank you! You have to manually focus so just make sure I’m focused. HAHAHAHAHA. I still love it. Who else has a pic of themselves in front of the Coliseum with SNOW?! ;)

This girl falls asleep ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE. Pulling over on the freeway to nap is a forte of hers. Not even kidding. Love you Amy!

It was snowing. We were hungry. It seemed like a decent place to eat. And it SOO was. First time trying Carbonara. If you know me, you know I’m pretty fascinated with the mafia and love watching anything mob related. The owner of this place looked and acted like the don. Like no joke. He walked around with a cigar in his mouth, plates in both hands and looked you straight in the eye… you know… the kind of stare that intimidates you. I was DYING to get a photo and it took like my whole meal to get the courage to walk up to him and ask. We had a bit of a language barrier so it was more like me pointing to my camera, then pointing to him and then pointing to my smile. He totally loved it. I wish he was my grandpa. I bet he’d totally put  a horses’ head in your bed. ;)

LOVE this shot of Amy.

Happy Thursday!

Desi - just looked at these for the 100th time…still can’t get enough of them! I’d buy these if they were in a book…no joke!

Los Angeles Family Lifestyle Session

Fact: The Snickers Icebox Pie and Banana Pudding from Magnolia Bakery is made out of straight crack. Just thought I’d share with you. You know. Just in case you wanted to swing by and bring me some. ;) We can chill out by the pool and watch MOBWIVES. Totally serious.

I LOVE shooting Connie, Will and their adorable son Ethan. They really can’t take a bad photo. And the light at Magnolia Bakery was out of this world. I wish that light followed me everywhere I went.

Thank you Connie and Will for treating me out and for the good times. It’s always an honor shooting you guys. Much love to your beautiful family.

Hope you enjoyed and happy Wednesday!
