san francisco family portrait

A few months back, Sarah K Chen and I flew up  north to shoot a wedding so we decided to make a little trip out of it. As photographers, it’s pretty rare to be in front of the camera since we’re always behind it. Not that we’re complaining, but it’s nice to have some photos of ourselves. :) I had such a blast taking pictures for Sarah and her adorable family. I hope you love these as much as I do. :)  And make sure to check out her blog to see more from out trip!

All these images were shot on film… either with the contax645 w/ fuji400h or canon a-1 with fuji400h. All developed and scanned at Richard Photo Lab.

Ok. I never say Eek! But eek! Isn’t the light just gorgeous!!! It was fuh-reezzzing! But the Chen’s rocked it out.

Ellie is seriously the sweetest and well-tempered baby on the planet.

The light. Gorgeous. Sarah. Gorgeous.

Love this shot. I seriously can’t get over the light and colors of film.

One of my favorite mommy & me images.

Another favorite.

Ok. Actually, these are my fave mommy & me pics. SO CUTE x’s 1,000,000.

On our last day, we spent the day at Delores Park just relaxin’.

So sweet.

One hot photog-mom.

Adore these shots of Jeff & Sarah!

And I end with a few shots I took at the airport. Isn’t Ellie adorable??

Lucy - Love this entry! Amazing pics :)

connie M chung - hi beth! the last 3 frames were from the canon a1. i believe the shots of sarah and ellie on the flannel blanket were from the a1 as well. i hope this helps! :) best of luck with the a1! it’s a wonderful camera! hope you get it figured out soon! :)

Serena Grace - these are seriously so gorgeous!

Jacqueline - Just came across your blog — it’s gorgeous! I just love the colors of the film and the lighting. Plus, I always get a little giddy when I see my hometown on people’s blogs. If you were near Dolores Park, I hope you all had some Bi-Rite ice cream. :)

Beth - very beautiful indeed. i wonder if you would kindly share which ones were from the A1? i am trying to figure out the over 20 year old camera but have not been as successful.

Amber Wood - these are gorgeous, Connie. love every.single.one!!

Hannah SUh - These are treasures. So lovely and the whole family looks BEAUTIFUL!!

Up imagery - Gorgeous.

sarah k chen - aw, connie, I can’t thank you enough for these! I love them so much! you’re right, it’s rare for us to be on the other side of the lens but so important too! can’t wait to redo our room and frame these up!

for japan, with love.

We all know the tragedy Japan is going through right now. It’s truly heartbreaking to see/hear the videos and stories of the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan. For those of you looking to help/donate, please check out the relief effort For Japan With Love my dear friends Lydia of Ever Ours and the ladies at Utterly Engaged put together, handpicking the organization Shelter Box to donate to. $20,000 in just a few days. That is just so amazing. Thank you to everyone who donated. Every little bit helps. And in honor and respect for all the victims of the earthquake and tsunami, I will be participating in the blogger’s Day of Silence for Friday, March 18th.

My prayers and thoughts to each victim and lost soul.

God bless everyone.

long beach airport engagement

Wedding season is swinging into full gear and what better way to start the season than by blogging my first engagement session of 2011! :) You all thought I stopped blogging, huh? Tsk. Tsk.

Mike + Jen. A good-looking, sweet and funny couple. What more do I need to say? :) When they told me their relationship was long distance in the beginning and had spent hours flying to see each other, I think I accidentally yelled out, ‘How perfect would it be to shoot at the aiport?!!’ I just get really excited when couples incorporate real elements of their relationship into their engagement sessions. :) And when they jumped on board with the idea, we all clapped. Seriously. We really did. Korean lady style clapping.

You guys! Can’t wait for your wedding in April! Thanks so much for being stellar models and the sweetest of clients! Much love.

Love this pic of Mike!

So sexxzy. No?

I don’t know why, but this picture is so hot to me.

Such a beautiful smile.

I was very happy when the sun decided to show up for the last 1o minutes of our shoot.

‘You are the wind beneath my wings.’ Kind of, yes? No? LOL. Humor me.

Jen is so happy in love. I love it.

The clouds look amazing here!

And I end with this gorgeous photo of Jen.

Happy Friday and thanks SO much for tuning in! :) I hope you enjoyed these images!
